Dear Friends:

The inaugural Jon Francis Race to Alturas was run on August 22, 2009.  It was a gorgeous day in the Sawtooths - warm and sunny, with a clear blue sky.  Forty–six runners enjoyed and completed the course (with no injuries).  Many friends of Jon gathered to celebrate his life and ministry, and to raise money for camp scholarships.

A foot race from Luther Heights to Lake Alturas, organized by Jon’s friends, is a fitting tribute to Jon, who loved to run and to teach his faith in the beauty of God’s creation.  And a race at 7200 foot elevation is excellent high altitude training!
